It was early December 2024 when I visited old Cairo with Kareema. On the way to the shopping street, the market and the restaurant we (read Kareema) fed many street cats. Out of nowhere Kareema suddenly dove to the left, when she came up she had a very small black kitten with a big belly in her hands. The kitten was all alone on the street. Because Kareema was busy feeding the other street cats I put the little kitten in my vest, nice and warm and safe. The kitten stayed at Kareema's house for 1 night and the next morning he came to 'the haven'. The kitten turned out to be completely full of worms and was treated for this immediately. Now 2 months later the kitten is healthy and has grown considerably. I named him Duda, Duda means worm in Arabic.

Duda is estimated to be around 4 months old, estimated date of birth around October 2024. Jabari is reportedly a healthy young gentleman now that he has been freed from worms.
Duda gets along well with the other cats in 'the haven'. Because he is now staying in the kitten apartment, where there are no dogs, we do not yet know how he will react to this. Duda is still a bit reserved towards people, one moment he comes to you carefully but the next moment he can shoot away again. With a lot of rest, treats and time we have good hope that there is still a lot to gain here.
Duda will be ready to move in about 3 months, around May 2025. He will have received all his vaccinations by then. This against common cat diseases and rabies. He will also be chipped and will have received his deworming and anti-flea treatment. Duda has not yet been neutered but this will be done before May. Duda is litter box trained.
We attach great importance to the safety of our SHE cats. A SHE adoption cat must be kept indoors. Since Duda has only known the safe environment of 'the haven' since he was a little kitten, this is extra important to him. A very well-sealed outdoor area or cat run is of course also good.
Who can offer this somewhat shy young boy a safe and loving home?
