Karamello

My name is Karamello.

When I was one month old my mother was poisoned. I was next to her trying to get some milk. I didn't know that she had died and that there was no more milk and that I was not safe anymore.

A young lady saw me and took me home, she took care of me and loved me very much. I felt like I had a mother again. She brought me delicious food and gave me lots of hugs.

I was so happy with her but life wasn't fair to me again. My friend had finished high school and had to go to college when she left home.

Her family took me away and left me alone on the roof to suffer from the cold and loneliness. They didn't care for me or give me any food.

My friend came back from college and found me on the roof and her family told her I wasn't welcome back home anymore. So she put me on Facebook to try and find me a safe place. She eventually found me a safe place where I live now in Haven.

I came to them in May. They all love me here and gave me a new name Karamello to have a new life. Now I am looking for a loving forever home. I would like to have a home where it is quieter, with much less cats than in Haven.

I like attention from people and like to sit on people's laps. But there are limits; I don't crawl on people's necks like some cats here in Haven like to do.

I am about a year and a half old, vaccinated, chipped and neutered. I use the litter box. I promise to come and check on my human when he is on the toilet. I listened to the advice of the other cats in Haven and know what my duties are as a house cat.

I can fly to the US, UK, Canada and Europe. Is there an adopter for me?

I have suffered enough in my life and I want a family that will consider me a family member and I will live with them for the rest of my life.

Ernie

My name is Ernie. I am 8 months old now, born around new year 2024.

Last February I was walking between buildings on the street looking for food in trash cans when I found a building. There was some dry food nearby.

I went there, ate and slept deeply. The next day I saw cats entering this building and going to the first floor where food was next to an apartment. I did the same as them.

After talking to the other cats I understood that they told me there was a lovely lady named Koky. She feeds the cats, so I decided to live next to this building.

Every day I go to Koky's apartment and eat there. Later she saw me and started touching me and taking care of me. That was the first time in my life that someone took care of me.

Since then we have become friends and every time she opens the door we would play together. I saw that she also has other cats. I decided I wanted to join them too.

The next day Koky opened the door and I jumped into her apartment. I decided I would live there and she told me it was okay, but that I would have to go to the shelter after a few days. I didn't know what a shelter was, but I knew Koky wouldn't take me to a bad place.

I came to the shelter and made many friends here. Now I am looking for a loving forever home.

I am vaccinated, chipped and neutered. I'm looking for a nice home and a nice family who will love me forever, and I will love them forever too.

I am a good boy, Koky told me. Friendly with other cats, dogs and children. I'm not super active, but I like to play.

But don't worry, I won't jump on you and climb on your shoulders. I like to lie in a lap and don't mind being picked up.

Who can give me a safe home? – Adoption procedure

Jonsey

Jonsey arrived at Safe Haven Egypt on December 21, 2023, after being abandoned by someone near the shelter.

He has a gentle and playful personality, and is a real cuddler who likes to lie on your lap. Jonsey gets along well with other cats and dogs who are used to cats.

It is estimated that he was born in October 2023. He is now about 8 months young.

All cats at Safe Haven Egypt, including Jonsey, have received their basic vaccinations against common feline diseases and rabies. They are microchipped, have undergone a deworming treatment and an anti-flea treatment. All cats are housetrained and have undergone castration or sterilization.

At Safe Haven Egypt we focus on the safety and well-being of our cats. Therefore, our cats must be kept indoors and cannot roam freely. They are allowed in one catio or a very well-enclosed garden.

When adopted, our cats travel with a negative rabies lab certificate, in a sturdy cat box, and with all cat documentation. We ask adoption candidates for our adoption procedure and not to hesitate if you have questions to contact us.

Jonsey is ready for a loving and safe home. Are you ready to meet this sweet young man?

Dizzi

This is a confirmed cat

Dizi upon entering the Port

In August 2021, Koky heard about the plight of a paralyzed mother cat and her four very small kittens. Even though the Haven was quite full, she agreed to take them in as they would have had little to no chance of survival if left on the streets.

One of those four was a black and white boy named Dizzy.

He is now 2.5 years old. Dizzy has grown into a sweet adult cat with lots of affection. Visitors to the Haven describe him as “good-natured” and “loving.” He is not an “in-your-face” cat, but if you seem like a friendly person and you have an empty lap, you will soon have Dizzy for company. He's good company and will happily follow you around to see what you're up to (if that's not giving love, of course).

Dizzy has had a difficult start in life. In addition to the story of how he was found, he soon had to deal with the fact that he was a little kitten without a mother. His paralyzed mother, Sokra, did her best with her four little ones. Knowing that they were safe, that they were old enough to feed themselves, Sokra died at the end of September 2021.

We want to keep our promise to Sokra to find loving homes for all her babies. So let's find one for Dizzy.

He is neutered, chipped and house trained. He has had his regular vaccinations in addition to the rabies vaccine. When he travels to his new home, he will fly with his vaccination record and his certificate from an EU or UK recognized laboratory with the results of his rabies blood test, as required. We expect Dizzy to do well in most households, including those with respectful children.

This boy has truly only known the safety of the Haven as his home. Dizzy must be an indoor cat, or if he is allowed outside, it must be in a completely cat-proof garden (with the special fence) or a catio. Under no circumstances should he be allowed to roam outside or in a garden that is not cat-proof. We owe him (and his mother) his safety and security. Some of our adopters have successfully trained/trained their SHE cats.

If you've been touched by Dizzy's story or how handsome he is, or if you like the idea of a lap cat, why not consider this beautiful boy?

Since Dizzy has never had people of his own, we expect that he will develop a close bond with his adopter/family. All our adoptions are subject to a successful home check (done via video call) and an adoption fee. See What is the adoption procedure at SHE?

If you would like to offer to adopt Dizzy or would like to know more about our adoption procedure in general, no Contact on. Myself or another member of our volunteer Admin team will do our best to respond to you within 24 hours.
