From Safe Haven Egypt. Koky is the manager of SHE.
We would like to meet Koky's Christmas gift from December 2021, our handsome and cheeky Dylan.
On December 19, 2021, a lady arrived at the door of the Haven with a tiny kitten. She told Koky that she found him next to the garbage. Koky told her that unfortunately we didn't have any nursing mother cats to place him with. The lady then said that if we didn't take it with us, she would just leave it in the trash.
And so it was that Dylan went home with Koky as a foster baby, where she bottle-fed him until he was old enough to eat solid food. This little boy is about 1.3 years old at the time of writing (February 12, 2023). Koky has continued to cherish him, so he knows what it's like to live with people (and cats) and is an extremely friendly cat.
He is a very sweet cat – and very handsome too. We expect he would do well in most households, including those with another cat(s), a cat-friendly dog and respectful children. Given his personality, you can expect him to follow you around the house and seek attention whenever he can!
We would classify Dylan as a native Egyptian Mau, the original cat breed in Egypt. It is the oldest recorded breed of cat in the world, with references to its appearance over 4,000 years ago. Maus are highly intelligent, intuitive and energetic. Some of them can be quite vocal. They can be excellent climbers and jumpers. They are also typically close to their human(s) and very friendly, as we know this boy is.
Dylan has had his shots against standard cat diseases and has also been vaccinated against rabies. He will travel with his original rabies blood test certificate from the certified laboratory. He has also been neutered. We are not aware of any health problems. Since he was picked up from the garbage at just a few weeks old, he has known nothing but safety. Dylan must be an indoor cat/house cat, or could easily have a catio or completely cat-proof garden (with the special fencing). He is not allowed to roam freely, as he will not understand the dangers of the road; this also applies to quiet residential areas. We have seen too many accidents where our babies have been seriously injured or worse.
All our adoptions are subject to a successful home check (conducted via video call), an adoption fee of £195 or the local equivalent (= +/- €220.50), and your signature on our adoption contract.
