This beautiful ginger-white lady was unceremoniously dumped with her four kittens in a cat box just outside the gate of Haven in May 2021. No note, no explanation, no knock on the door to explain — just left there.
Despite the fact that we were literally overloaded with cats and kittens, we took them in. Rosie moved into the cat/kitten room and had her own space to care for her babies until they were weaned from her milk and ready to explore their own in the kitten apartment.
Today, Rosie is a young adult cat about 2 1/2 to 3 years old. She has a quieter, gentler demeanor compared to some of our “angels” in the Haven. She has lived with us for over a year now. We thought we had found her an adopter, but unfortunately circumstances changed and it just wasn't good timing to move forward.
So Rosie waits for an offer of a forever home. She is spayed, microchipped, has had her standard cat vaccines and the one against rabies.
When she leaves the Haven she will do so with her original certificate from the laboratory confirming the results of her blood test for rabies.
It's hard to know whether Rosie has ever owned a house before or not; we tend to think not. She is litter box trained and we expect she would do well in homes, both as an only cat (with appropriate human attention) and in a home with other cats. Homes with respectful children would also be considered.
Rosie enjoys human attention. She's the kind of cat that if there's a group she won't be out front checking it out, but if you're comfortable on your own she will seek you out. We can easily see her curled up in the evenings with her adopter in front of the television, a book or just a cuddle session.
As Rosie has now remained safe in the Haven and its fully secure gardens, we would ask her to maintain that level of security in her forever home.
Either adopted to someone with a fully cat-protected garden or catio, or kept as an indoor/house cat. Many of our indoor cat adopters have also had success teaching our cats to walk on a leash, if that is something that interests her adopter (and Rosie).
