The next story is one that Kareema unfortunately experiences all too often. It was December 2024 when someone knocked on the door of 'the haven' with their cat. He told the staff at 'the haven' that they no longer wanted the cat because they had just had a baby. The man said that if 'the haven' did not accept the cat, he would throw it out on the street. Kareema of course could not let this happen and quickly took the cat inside. The cat was named Luke by his first sponsor.
Luke is a calm and friendly cat towards people. Luke gets along with the other cats and cat-friendly dog in 'the haven', but he doesn't seem to appreciate a large group of cats. He doesn't fight but doesn't seem to be happy when it's very busy and there are too many cats around him. For this reason we think Luke would be better placed with a maximum of 1 or 2 other cats.
Luke is estimated to be around 3 years old, his estimated date of birth is around March 2022. Luke is a healthy boy, despite his white color he is not deaf. Like all SHE cats, Luke has had his vaccinations. This against common cat diseases and rabies. He is also microchipped and has had a deworming and anti-flea treatment. Luke is neutered and also litter-trained. Luke is ready to pack his bags and move from June 2025.
We attach great importance to the safety of our SHE cats. A SHE adoption cat must be an indoor cat. A very well-sealed outdoor space or cat run is of course also good.
