SHE is a rescue of street cats in Cairo, Egypt that is officially registered as a non-profit in Egypt (reg. 7534).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friends of Safe Haven Egypt<\/em> is the Dutch-language promotional project of the SHE cats. This website is also available in English because SHE does not have its own website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It formally started in August 2015 with a single apartment as a shelter. A place of peace and safety for young kittens and slightly less young kittens. There are no real old street cats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There the cats could gain strength until they were ready for adoption. A single apartment quickly became far too limited in space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safe Haven Egypt currently has four interconnecting apartments with a fully secluded garden. This is located in the 6th of October city, Cairo. There are separate areas for young kittens, adult cats, newly arrived cats, and mother cats with their young.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHE has five employees and a veterinarian who visits very regularly and who does the castration and sterilization in our own operating room. Only the kitchens are cat-free and are the center for preparing food for the cats and for administration. <\/p>\n\n\n

SHE was founded by Walae Besada, and Kareema Ibrahim<\/a>, commonly known and referred to as 'Koky'. \u2013 The cat shelter is currently under the management of Koky. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is an international group of volunteers who support the online activities. Safe Haven Egypt depends on international donations to finance its day-to-day operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safe Haven Egypt lives online in her private Facebook group<\/a>. There are messages posted of new incoming cats, calls for sponsorship of certain guests of SHE, raffles in favor of SHE, sad news if a seriously injured cat did not make it, good news if it did make it, announcements of adoption and flight to their new home of SHE cats. <\/p>\n\n\n

SHE's objective is entirely focused on rescuing cats, caring for them, preparing them for adoption by socializing them and ensuring that the SHE cats end up in the right place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SHE cats go to where the adopters live. And so some have already left for the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Finland, Russia, Sweden, Sardinia, the United States of America and Canada. And also Egypt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
